'Simply the most beautiful collection of songs from a local artist I have ever heard' Michael Beaumont, RADIO FM 99.3

'Everytime I play a track from this album on the radio, I get callers; "What was that beautiful thing you played after the news..." James Valentine, ABC

'fascinating, very beautiful.... it's amazing' Don Burrows

The Dream is a musical and engaging album, characterised by its lyricism and emotional integrity... Elizabeth has really come into her own. From the opening tune, the gentle Until I’ve Show You Paris, she commands the listener with her poignant, yearning vocal style and tender piano playing. The arrangements are creative and texturally rich... Furthermore, there are some thoughtful, probing ideas and beautiful imagery contained in the lyrics. ..Same World, Different Eyes, for example, deals with the corruption of childhood naivety by the adult sense of futility and the love songs, like The Dream, avoid obvious clichés, exploring instead the complexities and contradictions involved in romantic affairs. This is a musically interesting and honest album, an impressive debut from a most promising singer/songwriter. - Jasmine Crittenden DRUM MEDIA

'Elizabeth stands apart from our other artists simply because of her incredible talent and diversity as a magnificent vocalist, pianist, trumpet and flugelhorn player and last but not least as a composer...' - Leslie Moore, AUSTRALIAN JAZZ AGENCY

Reviews for 'On Patrol With The Jazz Police' -

'Elizabeth Geyer's third album re-boots the momentum driven by 'The Dream' where the aesthetic is blurred between an original contemporary jazz edge and a pianist-singer-songwriter sensibility. Her yearning tone adapts to a range of emotions and desires in her lyric. While much of Geyer's thought provoking poetry is open for personal interpretation, these compositions and arrangements, especially the energetic pieces include qualities of climactic drama and surprise. I didn't want the crescendo of 'A Candle Is Sweeter Than Fire' to end. Most of her trumpet/flugelhorn acts as improvised gilding but complements the dynamic between Bill Risby's and Jonathan Zwartz's bass.
ABC 'Limelight' Magazine

'Elizabeth Geyer sounds like Elizabeth Geyer. There is no greater compliment. She's got her own sound and it's beautiful.' JAMES VALENTINE ABC

' Elizabeth has just released her third and finest album to date ‘On Patrol with the Jazz Police’ to critical acclaim' www.jazzandbeyond.com.au

'There are two sides to Elizabeth Geyer, who writes, sings and plays trumpet, flugelhorn and piano. She is an aspiring adult pop artist with jazz inflections and a jazz artist with pop leanings ... both work here thanks to a lovely voice and some fine playing by her and a band of excellent jazz musicians' Sydney Morning Herald

REVIEWS FOR 'Elizabeth Geyer' 'In a world of same, in a world of similarity, Elizabeth's extraordinary and individual talent takes us on a different journey every time we listen. Her interpretations of these classic songs reach into my past, into my own stories, and challenge us to revisit and relive old passions and to mourn the emptiness of lost passion. She stirs our hearts and minds and then leaves, until next time we rreach for the music and the words, and of course for Elizabeth' PETER HISLOP FM 99.3

'very, very special... a uniqueness you want to cling to... the best record I have heard in a long time.' Don Burrows

Occasionally you hear something with that indefinable quality that makes for 'real' jazz. It swings, there's beautiful playing, it has warmth and most of all, it makes you feel good. Liz does all this and more - it's nice to have another great jazz CD in my collection!' James Morrison

'Don Burrows has described Elizabeth Geyer's debut CD as possibly the finest Australian jazz recording made in the last ten years... the CD immediately catches the ear for sheer originality of sound and clean execution of popular standards... Elizabeth excels on trumpet, flugelhorn, piano and she has delightful vocals.' Noel Crow, ALL THAT JAZZ

'Elizabeth Geyer has made every post a winner.. the talents of this instrumentalist, singer and arranger are amply displayed... containing many examples of her tasty muted trumpet and mellow flugelhorn playing. But Geyer shines just as much as a singer, showing taste and imagination as she delivers the lyrics with conviction rather than trying to rebuild the melody line. There are many excellent moments but none better than when Geyer, an accomplished pianist, accompanies herself on Joni Mitchell's Both Sides Now."
